What is Latisse?
Latisse is a topical prescription product. It is the first and only scientifically proven product approved by the FDA to stimulate eyelashes to grow longer and thicker. While using Latisse, your lashes will continue to grow without shedding as they normally would. They will, therefore, continue to grow longer until they have reached the desired length you choose. Latisse can also stimulate eyebrow growth in some patients.
How does Latisse eyelash lengthening work?
Latisse is applied by dabbing a serum on the upper lash line with a sterile applicator. The prescription drug will spread to the lower lash when you blink. Like the hair on your head, your lashes will sprout and grow, but will then fall out. Latisse can extend the growth phase of your lashes and brows, and it can increase the number of hairs that grow.
Treatments affect the growth phase of the eyelash hair cycle in two ways. First, the length of the growth phase increases, which helps to give you longer eyelashes. If you feel as if your lashes have never fully reached your desired length, this treatment may be perfect for you. Second, Latisse increases the number of hairs in this phase, which helps to give you thicker, fuller lashes. If you want to treat thinning lashes, Latisse eyelash lengthening may be perfect for you.
When should I see results?
Enhanced eyelash growth is typically seen within several weeks but may take up to several months in certain patients.* Once lashes have grown to their desired length reduce applications to 2-3 times per week. This is necessary to maintain your results. If the product use is discontinued entirely, your eyelashes will begin to shed normally and return to their pre-treatment appearance within a few weeks.

When used as directed, Latisse has been proven to be safe, with no serious adverse events reported. Side effects were typically limited to temporary redness of the eye or eyelids.
