How PicoSure® Can Boost Your Confidence

The new year means a new start, and sometimes that means moving on from an old tattoo. Hit that refresh button by removing, repairing, or modifying a tattoo that no longer fits your style. Hey, even the best tattoo artists need an eraser from time to time (we won’t tell).

With the PicoSure® laser, it’s easier than ever to reclaim your body and love your look. Here’s everything you need to know about this awesome treatment that will have you looking your best and feeling confident.

How it Works

PicoSure® is an FDA approved device that uses advanced laser pulses that fire at one trillionth of a second in length to destroy pigment.

Essentially the PicoSure® device uses a special lens that converts the laser into pressure that treats the exact skin cells with unwanted pigment: this gentle pressure destroys the cells. Known as cell-signaling, the destruction of the cell releases a protein that triggers a healing response leading to the creation of brand new collagen and elastin.

Collagen is a protein naturally found in the body. One of its most important functions is to keep the skin hydrated, elastic, and structured. When new collagen is created, new skin cells are pushed to the top of the dermis for a revitalized appearance. In the case of treating tattoos, this means no more ink, and brand new skin.

What it Can Treat

Because of the PicoSure®’s adjustable wavelength feature, it’s able to target and treat every single color of ink. The 755nm treats darker colors like black, green, and blue, while the 550nm treats sunset colors such as yellow, red, and orange. It’s tailored treatments allow for corrections of any size and any color. It’s your secret weapon for tattoo removal and modification.

Additionally, the PicoSure® laser can also treat acne scars, fine lines, and sun damage. Relying on the same science used to treat tattoos, the laser converts into pressure to destroy old, damaged cells and replace them with new collagen and elastin proteins that leave the skin looking younger, firmer, and totally revitalized.

Number of Treatments

While the number of PicoSure® treatments you’ll need depends on the size of your tattoo, expect to need at least three sessions before you begin to notice a difference. However, it’s typical for PicoSure® to take up to eight sessions. Still, there’s no downtime following treatment so you’ll be able to resume normal activities immediately after each session.
